Murcielago Lamborghini: 0-60 in 3.3 Sec

Written By nyit on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 | 6:40 PM

There’s nothing subtle about the 2008 Murcielago. The LP640 is top-of-the-line Lamborghini. With a powerful V12 engine, over 600 horsepower and a “Launch Control” feature, this mid-engine monster can do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds and hit a reported top speed of 211mph.

World Record Supercar Event: Porsche Carrera GTs take over the OC

Written By nyit on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 | 6:21 PM

What happens when you round up some of your fellow Porsche Carrera GT owners and plan a fun gathering in the OC? Well, you end up setting the world record for most Carrera GT supercars in one location!!

Twenty Carrera GTs (CGT) were originally confirmed but 14 actually made it out for a brunch and drive thru Orange County, CA this past Saturday, June 14th. The cars that attended came from as far north as San Francisco and as far south as San Diego. Our friend and organizer, Manny Khoshbin, planned not only beautiful locales but also routes to showcase these magnificent works of art. The sound of one Carrera GT alone is worth to die for but gather 14 together and well, you’re in heaven!

Maximum output from the racebred V10 engine is 605 horsepower (SAE) at 8,000 rpm, with peak torque rated at 437 pound-feet. The Carrera GT has a top test-track speed of 205 miles per hour (330 k/h) and accelerates from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds. Its specially developed six-speed manual gearbox allows it to go from zero to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 9.9 seconds. Combined with a carbon fiber body and magnesium wheels, the car weighs in at 3,042 lbs. It truly is a racecar for the streets! In the exotic car world, this German thoroughbred is classified as a true supercar, joining the ranks of Italy’s Ferrari Enzo and Bugatti Veyron.

The June 14th gathering started out with about half the cars cruising to Crystal Cove in Newport Beach. To keep the group together and to efficiently maneuver thru traffic, four motorcycle police escorts were requested by the CGT owners. It’s almost a requirement when you have $7,000,000 worth of cars driving thru busy areas. Bringing up the rear was the camera car, a black Rolls Royce Phantom no less! After a quick meet and greet with the rest of the group at Crystal Cove, the caravan cruised to St. Regis resort in Monarch Beach along the beautiful coastline of Highway 1, more famously known as Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). After a few hours at the St. Regis for a wonderful brunch, it was off to drive the canyons of Orange County thru perfect Southern California weather. All in all, a fun event for all involved and especially for the owners of these amazing supercars!

Luckily for many of us, Speed and Motion was there to bring you all the coverage!

VIDEO: Webrides.tv pits Nissan GT-R against Ford GT in Super Lap

The hi-tech Japanese against the American muscle car. I am not gonna tell what car won but its a good race! The only thing I want to say is that they used Kazunori Yamauchi (the godfather of Gran Turismo) for this video.

Kazunori Yamauchi got a Nissan GT-R as a thanks of helping to build the GT-R. To me the Ford GT is the winner thanks to the looks but a understand if you like the GT-R more because of the price and because its JDM. I like the Nissan more and more everyday and that’s all because of the positive journalist responses. But there’s one thing what makes me not choose for it and thats the looks. The R34 is so much more good looking and everyone chooses a car for the looks wright?

Lithuanian coachbuilder unveils custom BMW 6-series

Written By nyit on Monday, May 26, 2008 | 6:47 AM

Hey, it was first time peekcars blog featured a video. Now here it is, i embed one, for all readers.
I loved red car color, it looks sexy!!

bmw_lithuanian-coachbuilder_6_series_1.jpg

Outfitted with what amounts to nearly a complete re-body, the BMW has been subjected to what appears to be widened fenders to accommodate the 26-inch wheels wrapped in 305/30 rubber, new aerodynamic elements and new headlights plus an interior completely redone in suede.

bmw_lithuanian-coachbuilder_6_series_2.jpg

The car isn’t a car anymore it looks like a hot wheels toy. The wheels are so big and have so much chrome they just are too much! Judge yourself.
